Stacey Lois McCracken

In October 1987, to memorialize their daughter Stacey Lois McCracken, her parents provided two scholarships for the 1988 Young Writers Workshop. In doing so, they spoke of Stacey’s enthusiasm for the Workshop, where she found it personally rewarding, and also of the poems and stories that she wrote that became for them “tangible memories that embody her insights….” Her parents expressed gratitude for “the friendships and experiences Stacey had…and for the love of life and growth of spirit that emerged.” Those scholarships were awarded, becoming a significant part of Stacey’s legacy.
